A friend, an inspiration, Mathieu Lamontagne

Sometimes you never know where the wheel of success will land for you. In 2009 a friend of mine, Mendell, a video producer while working on the Urban Jam Festival production and looking for people to play in the Celebrity game, gave me this brilliant idea. He said : ” there is this guy, he is in his 20’s, he is retired, he has built his fortune in Telecom, and he is a passionate of basketball, you should invite him. I was shocked by these 2 lines :

he is in his 20’s,

he is retired

I was like : ” How is that possible ? “

At the time i had in mind people such as Bruny Surin, World Gold Medalist on sprint, or Jean Pascal, Light Heavyweight World Champion, and that idea about Mathieu was very intriguing for me.

Empire Lamontagne

A few weeks after this discussion with Mendell, i received the visit of one of Mathieu’s Regional Director David Noël at the time with David Yul Michel. As a coincidence or law of attraction they wanted to talk business with me. They ended up by inviting Mathieu in the celebrity game my non profit organization was hosting. I was impressed how young he was and how humble and down the hearth he stayed with the amount of success and wealth that he has. Probably because he became a self made multimillionaire starting from nothing to the top, and he received an education from his mom that kept him grounded and humble.

Family was a big thing for Mathieu. He uses to tell me how important it my ” REASON WHY ” because if my ” WHY ” is not strong, any ” HOW ” will knock me down. It was hard to understand at first.

The more i grew through the process of personal growth the more i understood why “Family” and the desir to set his family financially free was a strong backbone.

I’m thankful to have him as a mentor, a friend and investor.

A philanthropist

Like Zig Ziglar saying that if you help enough people succeed, you will succeed by default, Mathieu embodies perfectly this mentality.

He got game and loves the game of basketball.

Tips on leadership from Mathieu to thousands of people.

On a personal note he offered me the 21 irrefutable laws of leadership which i still study from time to time.

Such a powerful book to have in your reading list.

P.S Study this book if you have the chance.
